LP products are a natural choice for building green – from the
renewable resources used and the environmental care in design and manufacture, to sustainability benefits for builders and homeowners.
As wood-based materials, LP building products are made from renewable forest resources and have a low environmental impact. LP uses forest management and procurement systems that are certified through the Sustainable Forestry Initiative®, helping to ensure that our wood comes
from well-managed forests. As engineered products, they use forest resources more efficiently than traditional wood products. LP uses low-emitting resins to protect indoor air quality and health.
Our products are manufactured according to strict environmental compliance standards, and our unique Environmental Management System assures every member of our team has environmental responsibility built into his or her job.
For builders, engineered wood products offer more consistent performance than other products and can minimize waste on the jobsite. For example, LP’s ENERGY STAR® rated LP® TechShield® Radiant Barrier Sheathing blocks up to 97% of heat in the panel from entering a home’s attic, decreasing monthly energy bills by up to 17% for homeowners.
LP products can help builders qualify for a number of green building certification programs nationwide.
With an eye on continuous improvement, LP businesses conduct customer surveys on a regular basis to determine customer needs and gather feedback on our products and service levels. Our sales force and
management frequently visit key customers to sustain ongoing dialogue on these topics. An annual LP brand study is conducted as well.
LP complies with health and safety requirements applicable to our products. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are provided when a product is introduced, and updated whenever a material change is made in the product composition, or at least every three years, as required by
US and Canadian regulation. These are easily available to anyone interested online at www.lpcorp.com along with installations instructions to ensure correct and safe installation of our products.
All LP products are labeled with required dimensional information. Products to which APA or EnergyStar certification apply are also stamped with these labels.
LP is aware of no substantiated complaints regarding breaches of customer privacy or losses of data, or of incidents regarding non-compliance with regulations in marketing communication during the
2006-2007 reporting period. During the 2006-2007 period, LP paid no fines for non-compliance with laws and regulations concerning the provision and use of products and services.
