LP employees are expected to treat each other and all members of the LP community respectfully in a manner that promotes a positive and productive workplace.

Discrimination or harassment in any form is not tolerated, as outlined in our Code of Business Ethics. LP is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse, high-performing workforce, with equitable opportunities for each LP employee. Development and succession planning programs emphasize diversity and internal promotion opportunities.

Development Programs

In 2007, we put in place processes and goals for all North American salaried employees to receive quarterly feedback against annual performance measures.
To provide growth opportunities and foster internal promotions, we offer a variety of training internally and through outside programs. Job openings are usually posted internally, giving current employees a chance at the job before the external job search begins.

Lean Six Sigma: Turning Tough Times Into Growth Opportunities

The years 2006 through 2009 were tough for the building products industry. A challenge: how to cut costs and still offer people opportunities for growth. LP’s response: ramp up our Lean Six Sigma program, train and hire Black Belts from within, and engage people in LSS teams across the company. More than 370 Black Belts and Green Belts have been traveling across the company. And it’s paid off. Our Lean Six Sigma teams are delivering greater than a six-to-one return on investment in cost savings for LP.
