Each year, LP is privileged to make contributions of cash and product to nonprofits in our communities. Cash contributions come both from the
Corporation and the LP Foundation, LP’s charitable arm. Donations are focused in the areas of shelter programs, K-12 public schools,
environmental programs, and special community needs in the areas where we operate mills and administrative offices.
Working with Scholarship America, LP also sponsors a competitive college scholarship program for dependent children of LP
employees who have been with the company at least one year.
The LP Foundation, the charitable arm of LP Building Products, supports nonprofits and public schools in the towns where our employees
live and work. The LP Foundation focuses giving in four areas: shelter programs, public education, environmental programs and social services.
We believe giving back is about more than writing a check – it’s about building relationships and working together to build a better
community. Priority funding is given to organizations that fit our charitable focus areas and in which employees can become actively involved.
The LP Foundation is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees. Please read the LP Foundation Brochure for information on grant applications from 501(c)(3) organizations and public schools.

LP operates in many small, rural communities. From 2006 through 2008 the LP Foundation offered the Community Impact Grant program in these communities. LP sites partnered with local qualified nonprofits or schools to compete for grants of up to $100,000 for projects
demonstrating a substantial impact on community livability and sustainability.
In recognition of difficult economic times in many of our rural communities, the LP Foundation established a short-term 2009 Community
Relief program to provide grants of $1500 to $4000 per community to support schools and non-profits providing relief services.
The LP Foundation matches 50% of employee contributions (up to $500 per individual per year) for workplace giving campaigns to company-approved charities, including United Way agencies and an extensive list of hundreds of local and national charities. In addition, since late 2007, the Foundation has matched funds that employee race teams raise for approved causes, such as The American Heart Association.

The LP Foundation matched more than $2000 raised by “Nashville’s “Jack and Back” team, who biked from Nashville to
Lynchburg for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The LP Foundation is not accepting unsolicited applications at this time. Before submitting a request, review the LP Foundation Information Brochure for instructions on submitting a grant proposal. When applications are open, only applications adhering to the submission guidelines will be accepted and reviewed. Please submit proposals via e-mail to the LP Foundation.
